This is what it would look like if you had to add the keywords back in.
I always put stuff online but sometimes I don’t even like to see these wall-of-text worksheets. Keep in mind that even if it’s not super interesting that the hope is that maybe something will inspire someone, someday to solve K4. That’s the end and these are the attempted means.
Since the big news haven’t been covered here yet, just in case anyone missed them:
Jim Sanborn announced a second clue for K4 on November 20, namely that letters 70-74 (MZFPK) translate to CLOCK when deciphered.
So we now know that letters 63 – 75 (NYPVTTMZFPK) decrypt to BERLINCLOCK, so “Berlin clock”. Sanborn also hinted that this could refer to the Berlin clock [3] designed by Dieter Binninger in 1975.

So, another clue:
The plot thickens…
If the word after “berlin” is”clock” i think its safe to assume the “nfb” before berlin would be the word “the”
Giving us 14/98 letters
To assume makes an ass out of u and me…
Wouldnt hurt to try it
Stage II of the BERLIN rocket. Phenomenal! 🙂
If I were an artist, I would protect my code in a way, that I am the only one
who decides IF and WHEN the code can be cracked.
A cool interview with Jim Sanborn about the new clue:
http://www.cbc.ca/asithappens/features/2014/11/24/after-stumping-codebreakers-for-24-years-kryptos-artist-reveals-new-clue
Jim sounds happy and likeable. Nice to hear.
There was a drone flying over his head half way through the interview.
Jim: “That’s quite interesting. The timing is perfect.”
So if Jim notice that there is a correct solution out there, the NSA knows it too 😉
This makes it difficult for him to protect a potential solver and his solution.
Hi folks,
after Jim has divulged his latest clue, I’m planning a trip to Berlin spring next year and take a lot of photos with details of all clocks I will find, especially of course the Berlin clock. I have a friend in Berlin, Harry. He lives there now, I think, since 1983/4 and spring next year, he needs a helping hand for a few days, while I need someone, who shows me the most interesting place there.
So if someone of you guys need a photo of a special clock, feel free to tell me. That’s your chance to get a Hi-Res photo of the object of your desire, exclusive only to the fans of this blog 🙂
FS
the Berlin Clock has rows with lamps; 44114, which is the zip-code of Cleveland. Is cleveland important for Sanberg?
His name is Sanborn 😉
I appreciate the hand-written notes you make available here.
To Jose – You were wrong. 🙂
