La Femme Nikita (1990)
Ah, the original…
La Femme Nikita has been a classic covert/espionage/assassin storyline re-envisioned and revised over and over again. I wasn’t that entranced by Anne Parillaud but she did a great job anyways. I can’t complain too much because you put that role out there these days and you’d end up with an Anne Hathaway or Lily Collins and it would just be horrendous.
Tcheky Karyo was awesome and it was fun to see him in a movie this early on.
There’s not much to say besides that it is a must-see classic spy type of movie. And that it is like watching those meth ads for the first 45 minutes or so. (ref: http://www.methproject.org/ads/tv/) Not to be offensive but that bitch is crazy and even out of training and with a quasi-balanced personal life she still acts like a nutter sometimes.
Great movie for the genre. One of the inspirations for many later films as well so it’s definitely one to watch if you haven’t already.
