Continuing my self-education in cryptology I have lately considered:


It’s not a very challenging concept but it has potential applications in Kryptos.  This is not an enciphering method per se but perhaps rather an artifact of substitution ciphers that can be exploited.

I would say that one of the biggest reasons I would be unable to solve the fourth part of Kryptos is inexperience with the subject matter.  Although the “experts” have yet to produce an answer either, I am realizing that modern cryptography systems are very different from the old analog, pencil and paper methods.

Perhaps there’s hope for us hobbyists after all.
